The Wu Style stresses a close foot posture which enables wider waist turn, and foots on parallel direction instead of the 45 degrees opening common in the Yang Style. The hand techniques are done in small circles, though some big ones can be seen. Two main characteristics are that the weight is held 100 percent in one leg and that the back is inclined in such a way that the leg and the spine align, and so stretching the reach of the techniques and enlarging the leverage force. Last, the china techniques, leverages and throws are learnt at an early stage, while they are taught only to the higher levels in the rest of the styles. |
